Associate Account Manager

Responsible for working with and supporting senior account leaders and clients to deliver outstanding brand marketing, public relations and community engagement activities for a diverse group of local, regional and national clients.  This position may work on multiple accounts and is responsible for delivering measurable, high-impact results. The ideal candidate possesses a broad understanding of marketing, public relations, social media, partnership development, event production and management, and advertising. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with project management and successful execution of integrated public relations, social media, consumer/community engagement and other campaigns/programs as directed.

  • Conduct research on social and media landscapes, as well as on companies, community groups and organizations.

  • Develop and maintain media, influencer and key contacts lists, as well as editorial calendars.

  • Draft media and influencer materials such as pitches, news releases, media alerts and calendar listings.

  • Work with media, bloggers and influencers to establish relationships and garner positive media coverage for clients.

  • Develop social media posts and support community management to drive growth and engagement.

  • Provide media and social media monitoring, tracking and reporting.

  • Write and distribute meeting notes for client- and other meetings as assigned.

 ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Project Management

  • Excellent event planning/execution, organization, and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Media Relations & Social Media

  • Effective storytelling with an ability to identify news angles and write effective pitches, news releases and other media materials; possess a solid knowledge of AP style, news media operations, news outlets/reporter beats; and a regular consumer of local news outlets (print, online & broadcast).

  • Experience working with and integrating social media strategies and tactics into all aspects of communication programs, including social media advertising.

  • Excellent social media content development (organic and paid) and community management.

Communication

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening; effective presentation of ideas; and ability to communicate with clients, vendors, media, and others on the phone, via email and in person.

  • Excellent fact-based and creative writing skills for public relations materials and social media posts.

Professionalism, Accountability & Initiative

  • Great work ethic, self-starter, calm under pressure and willingness to think beyond the traditional.

  • Strong team player who is collaborative, communicative, transparent; who takes direction well; and is an active participant with a positive attitude in account team and staff meetings.

  • Ability to deliver work on time, on budget, and as promised.

  • Strong interest in Greater Seattle and community events/initiatives; and establishing deep community connections.

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • Willing and available to work occasional evenings and weekends, as well as overnights when required for business-related travel.

  • Possess a valid Washington state driver’s license.
